  • U.S. Marshals Announce Operation Washout/Spring Cleaning Arrests

    Baton Rouge, LA – In support of the U.S. Department of Justice efforts to reduce violent crime, the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force (MLFTF) of the U.S. Marshals Service conducted "Operation Washout/Spring Cleaning" targeting violent fugitives and noncompliant sex offenders during the month of March in the greater Baton Rouge area.

    Memphis, TN – Mary Ozier, 26, who was wanted out of Shelby County for Criminal Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Employing a Firearm with Intent to Commit a Felony was arrested by U.S. Marshals around 9 p.m. last night. U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announced today. Ozier was wanted in connection to a shooting in Whitehaven last month.

    Orlando, FL – A Rochester, NY, mobster who escaped federal custody by walking away from a halfway house near Orlando was apprehended without incident by the U.S. Marshals Service from the Southern District of Florida and the Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force at approximately 11 a.m. today in Hialeah.

    Portland/Bangor, ME – The U.S. Marshals are alerting the public of a scam involving individuals claiming to be U.S. Marshals. During these calls, scammers attempt to collect money via phone in lieu of having further legal problems. The scammers claim that individuals need to "post bond" or face losing their jobs, custody of their children, or other consequences.

    On December 5, 2021, Jorge Maldonado was shot to death near the intersection of Trezevant and Capewood in Memphis, Tennessee. Another man present was shot but not killed.

    Memphis, TN – On September 13, 2021, Mario Moore and Courtney Riley were shot and killed at the 2200 block of Eldridge in Memphis, Tenn. On March 4, 2022, First Degree Murder warrants were issued for the arrest of Henderson and Travis for this crime by Shelby County Criminal Court.
