Jay C. Bieber, Acting U.S. Marshal

Jay C. Bieber was designated Acting U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of California by the Attorney General in October of 2023.

U.S. Marshal Bieber began his career in law enforcement with the Salt Lake City Police Department in 2000 as a police officer.  During his time as a police officer, he provided security for the 2002 Olympic Games which were hosted in Salt Lake City.

Marshal Bieber started with the United States Marshals Service in 2003 in the District of Hawaii.  In 2010 he was promoted to Supervisory Deputy in the Northern District of California.  In 2012 he was promoted to Assistant Chief, and finally Chief Deputy in 2018.  In 2021 U.S. Marshal Bieber was assigned to the Director’s Office as a Deciding Official, before being re-assigned back to the Northern District of California in 2023 to his current role.

Marshal Bieber has also been a volunteer youth soccer coach for many years; in 2017 he was the Girls Recreational, State Coach of the Year, for Northern California and in 2018 he was recognized as the U.S. Youth Soccer, Girls Recreational, National Coach of the Year.

Marshal Bieber holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Westminster University.
