Memphis, Tennessee – The Memphis Safe Task Force announces the arrest of Demarious Moore, 33, in Memphis, Tennessee. Moore was taken into custody early this morning and charged with Felony Evading and two counts of Kidnapping.
At approximately 0430 hours, Task Force members attempted to stop a vehicle near Jackson Avenue following multiple motor vehicle infractions. The operator, later identified as Moore, initiated a 20-minute high-speed pursuit, reaching speeds in excess of 115 miles per hour.
During the pursuit, Moore had two female passengers in the vehicle who were reportedly prevented from exiting. One of the victims ultimately bailed from the moving vehicle in an attempt to escape the vehicle.
The pursuit concluded near South Lauderdale Street, where Moore was safely apprehended and transported to a local detention facility. The two female victims are now safe and Moore faces multiple felony charges stemming from the incident.
