Washington, DC - The U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, in coordination with Longwood University Police Department, Farmville Police Department and Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office, arrested today a third suspect in the January shooting death of a Georgia man.

Dekerius Thompson, 23, was one of three men indicted in April by a Chatham County grand jury on charges of malice murder, two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and four counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony following the death of Keontae Grider, 21, who was killed Jan. 13 outside the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Pooler, Georgia.

Thompson was taken into custody without incident at off-campus housing.

The other two men, Logan Blair and Matthew Allen, were arrested in North Carolina in May.

The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force began operations in June 2004 and was among the first regional fugitive task forces to become fully operational following the Presidential Threat Protection Act of 2000. CARFTF has partnership agreements with over 100 federal, state, and local agencies and has eight fully operational offices.

CARFTF has apprehended over 102,700 fugitives since its inception and has made an extraordinary impact on the apprehension of the region’s most dangerous and violent fugitives, always striving to make their communities safer.
