U.S. Marshals Service Recovers Missing Child in Delaware

Dover, DE - The United States Marshals Service’s (USMS) Delaware First State Fugitive Task Force assisted the FBI in the recovery of a missing child Aug. 20.

The FBI requested USMS assistance in locating a missing 15-year-old child missing from Philadelphia. The suspect in that investigation was identified as an active-duty Air Force member.

Delaware First State Fugitive Task Force members responded to Dover Air Force Base and coordinated with Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI) and Security Forces personnel. Task force members made contact with the suspect while he was working on base. During the investigation, the suspect told investigators the missing juvenile was at his residence in the Camden-Wyoming area.

While the FBI Task Force and OSI continued their investigation and interview of the suspect, USMS task force members responded to the suspect’s residence and located the child, who was recovered safely and brought to the FBI task force for further interviews at the Dover Police Department.

The investigation into this case is ongoing.

The USMS First State Fugitive Task Force in the District of Delaware is a multi-agency partnership dedicated to locating and apprehending violent fugitives, sex offenders, and individuals with outstanding warrants. It is composed of state, county, and local police agencies including the Delaware State Police, Delaware State Probation and Parole, Wilmington Police Department, New Castle County Police Department, Dover Police Department, and the University of Delaware Police Department.
