U.S. Marshals in LA Arrest Man Wanted in AZ on Multiple Charges

For immediate release

Shreveport, LA – The U.S. Marshals Shreveport Violent Offender Task Force, working a collateral lead from the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force, today arrested a man wanted in Arizona on multiple charges.

Johnnie West is wanted by the Arizona Department of Corrections for parole violation, with an underlying charge of second-degree murder. The Mesa Police Department is also investigating West for aggravated assault stemming from an incident in which West allegedly assaulted the victim by strangulation. On Nov. 17, West fled from police when they tried to serve him with an order of protection.

West was apprehended without incident at a relative's home in the 1000 block of North Fourth Street, in Jena.

West will be extradited to Arizona after local court proceedings.
