Harrisburg, PA – Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Damon Baker, a 49-year-old Philadelphia man.
On June 8, 2021, the Philadelphia Police Department investigated the fatal shooting of two people in the 1700 block of North 27th Street. And, on June 23, 2021, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Baker with two counts of homicide and lesser included offenses. Baker could not be found, and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.
The fugitive task force investigated and learned that Baker was staying in a hotel in the 200 block of Arsenal Road, York, Pennsylvania. Today at about 1 p.m., members of the fugitive task force and York County Drug Task Force arrested Baker at the hotel without incident. He was turned over to the York County Sheriff’s Office Central Booking Unit for processing and arraignment.
United States Marshal Pane stated, "The U.S. Marshals Service is the nation's primary fugitive investigative agency and arrests more than 4,000 alleged murderers each year. We add Damon Baker's name to that list and by doing so we are making our communities safer."
