Scranton, PA – Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Dylon Carpenter, a 23-year old Nicholson man.

In September and October of 2020, multiple police agencies throughout Wyoming County filed charges against Carpenter for Burglary, Fleeing or Eluding Police Officer, Flight to Avoid Prosecution, Resisting Arrest and Failure to Appear. And - on October 13, 2020 - the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.

Today, at about 12:00 p.m., members of the task force and Pennsylvania State Police checked a home in the 100 block of Mroz Lane in Nicholson and learned that Carpenter fled into a nearby wooded area moments prior to their arrival. Task force members and troopers searched the wooded area and found Carpenter hiding in a hunter's blind. He was turned over to Wyoming County law enforcement officers.

United States Marshal Pane stated, "It's the Marshals Services' duty to ensure that those charged with serious crimes have their day in court. It is my sincere hope that the affected communities will find some measure of comfort knowing this suspect will face justice."

The United States Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Parole Board; the Wilkes-Barre Police Department; the Kingston Police Department; the Bradford County Sheriff's Office; and, the Scranton Police Department – all of whom participated in this investigation.
