Baton Rouge, LA — On Thursday, October 30, 2025, the United States Marshals Service (USMS) from Western Pennsylvania located a 13-year-old child missing from Louisiana.

On October 24, 2025, the Louisiana State Police (LSP) Special Victims Unit contacted the United States Marshals Service Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force’ (MLFTF) District Sex Offender Coordinator requesting collaborative assistance in locating the female.

The MLFTF DSOC received information from the State of Louisiana’s Attorney General’s Office Cyber Crime Unit, revealing the missing child may have had online contact with an unknown adult male. On Monday, October 27th, 2025, a 62-year-old male was arrested in New Orleans, LA. by the USMS Eastern Louisiana Fugitive Task Force for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. While questioning the subject, it was discovered that he was with the missing child at the Greyhound Bus Station in Baton Rouge earlier in the week.

Further investigation by the USMS and LSP revealed the missing child was with another subject, later identified as Ronald Smith, 62, who was located and arrested in Columbus, GA. for Simple Kidnapping and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

On October 30th, 2025, USMS District of Western Pennsylvania, with the assistance of FBI, Pittsburgh Police Department, and Allegheny County Juvenile Probation Office utilizing intelligence from USMS MLFTF and LSP were able to locate the missing child in a basement of a residence in Pittsburgh, PA. Investigations and interviews determined that the missing child travelled on a bus from Columbus, GA. to Pittsburgh, PA.

The missing child was located with two other adults.

The missing child was turned over to medical personnel for examination. Information obtained in both Pittsburgh and Columbus revealed evidence of sexual assault.

This is an ongoing investigation with local authorities looking into the additional juvenile and adult male. Further arrests are pending and additional charges are forthcoming.

Agencies assisting the USMS in this investigation: FBI Pittsburgh, LSP, Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Baker Police, Columbus, GA. Police, Pittsburgh Police and Allegheny County Juvenile Probation.
