U.S. Marshals Arrest Man Wanted for Multiple Rapes in Virginia

Asheville, NC – A multi-state fugitive investigation ended on Thursday with the arrest of Donaldo Antonio Buezo Hernandez, 53. Hernandez was wanted by the Manassas City Police Department, Manassas, Virginia, for multiple sexual rape charges.

The U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force (CRFTF), in the Western District of North Carolina, Asheville Division, arrested Hernandez on September 10, in Swannanoa, North Carolina. Hernandez was wanted for two counts of rape and two counts of rape with a child less than 13 years of age.

Hernandez has been a fugitive on these charges since April 2023 and has been evading capture ever since.

The Manassas City Police Department requested the assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service in locating and arresting Hernandez. During the fugitive investigation, the CRFTF developed information that Hernandez was residing at a home in Swannanoa, North Carolina.

U.S. Marshals located Hernandez in Swannanoa and attempted to arrest him. During the arrest, Hernandez fled from CRFTF but his attempt failed and after a short foot pursuit, he was captured and taken to a local detention facility.

The USMS Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force began operations in January 2018. The CRFTF has partnership agreements with 87 state and local agencies, as well as three federal agencies, and operates throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. The CRFTF has apprehended more than 9,000 fugitives since its inception and is always striving to make communities safer.
