Huntington, WV - The U.S. Marshals Service Southern District of West Virginia CUFFED Task Force arrested in Huntington on Tuesday a Detroit man wanted by the Detroit Police Department for a November 2025 homicide.
Dalvine Nickerson, 20, of Detroit was taken into custody at approximately 5 p.m. in the 800 block of 25th Street in Huntington.
On Nov. 14, 2025, Nickerson allegedly shot and killed a 21-year-old man who was getting a haircut at an unauthorized after-hours barbershop on the grounds at Charles Wright Academy of Arts and Science.
Nickerson and his brother fled on foot from Detroit Police after being observed at a friend’s apartment. Nickerson’s brother was apprehended, but Nickerson got away.
The U.S. Marshals Service Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team investigated the case and learned Nickerson had fled the metro Detroit area and traveled to Ohio and West Virginia. When they developed information that Nickerson was in the Huntington area they sent a collateral lead to the CUFFED task force.
After his arrest, Dickerson was transported to the Western Regional Jail and is awaiting extradition back to Michigan.
