Cleveland, OH – Late this afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals led Specialized Personnel for Enforcement, Apprehension and Recovery Unit (SPEAR) recovered three missing children in East Cleveland.
Members of the SPEAR Unit were alerted to the case involving the three kids on June 30, and during the investigation found that all three missing children were siblings. The children, a 17-year-old male, 12-year-old female, and 10-year-old male were all reported missing on March 30, 2026, after leaving the Jane Edna Building. It was believed that the children had run away to live with their mother, Chaquitta Luster, who lost custody of the children due to circumstances involving neglect of medical attention for one of the children, who is paralyzed due to suffering a gun shot wound when they were young.
Members of the task force were able to locate the children and the mother at a home in the 15600 block of Terrace Rd. in East Cleveland. The mother of the children was arrested due to an outstanding warrant for interference of custody with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department. The children were taken to Rainbow Babies Hospital as a precaution and for evaluation before being turned over to Children’s Services.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “We are thankful these three children are safe. Communication between the law enforcement partners as well as Children’s Services helped to make this a quick and safe recovery for all three children.”
