Suspects That Shot 12 People in New Orleans Arrested by Law Enforcement

Baton Rouge, LA – Two suspects from the December 01, 2019 early morning shooting of twelve persons on the edge of the French Quarter in the 700 block of Canal Street in New Orleans, LA were arrested on December 10, 2019, after a multi-agency investigative operation involving the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office, Louisiana State Police, Louisiana Probation and Parole, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Western District of Louisiana, U.S. Marshals Service Middle District of Louisiana, and the U.S. Marshals New Orleans Task Force (U.S. Marshals Service Eastern District of Louisiana). The shooting received national and worldwide media coverage and the New Orleans Police Department and other state and federal law enforcement agencies quickly moved to investigate the shooting and identify suspects.
Stafford Wayne Starks, 21 years of age and a registered sex offender, was determined to be on active Louisiana felony probation for a prior conviction in St. Mary Parish, LA for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Starks was wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for 8 counts of Attempted Murder, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm and Obstruction of Justice. Starks was arrested by a law enforcement team on the morning of December 10th at a residence in Baldwin, LA with critical support from the U.S. Marshals Service Western District of Louisiana.
Labryson Dejaun Polidore, 22 years of age, was arrested at an address in Baton Rouge, LA just before midnight on December 10th after a lengthy fugitive investigation and with critical support from the U.S. Marshals Service Middle District of Louisiana. Polidore was wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for 10 counts of Attempted murder, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm and Obstruction of Justice. Polidore was on crutches at the time of his arrest and investigators believe that he was recovering as a result of being shot in the foot during the shooting incident on Canal Street.
Eastern District of Louisiana U.S. Marshal Scott Illing stated, "The investigative work that went into these arrests is impressive. Investigators drove hundreds of miles and worked just under 24 hours straight to get both of these potentially dangerous suspects off of the streets I would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the local, state, and federal partners that achieved this positive result."
