Cleveland, OH – This afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Darcell Jackson, 39. Jackson was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder and also wanted by the Northern District of Ohio for a federal supervised release violation.
On April 28, 2026, officers with the Cleveland Division of Police responded to an address in the 12000 block of Lenacrave Ave. for a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a male victim who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to University Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. After an investigation led by the Cleveland Division of Police, homicide unit, it was determined that Jackson was involved in this deadly shooting and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
This morning, members of the NOVFTF initiated a fugitive investigation on the whereabouts of Jackson and determined that Jackson was residing at an address in the 2500 block of E. 66th Street in Cleveland, Ohio. As task force members were approaching to attempt to arrest Jackson, he fled on foot and a foot pursuit ensued. The foot pursuit ended in the 2500 block of Bundy Drive and task force members were able to place Jackson under arrest.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “This arrest today was the culmination of outstanding police work by the Cleveland Division of Police followed by relentless efforts of our Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. This fugitive put the community at risk by fleeing on foot through a populated neighborhood, but our task force made sure he did not escape and the result was a safe arrest for the community and officers involved.”
