Washington, DC – U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi appointed Stephanie Creasy as the Deputy Director of the United States Marshals Service. Creasy, originally from Memphis, TN, has served as the Acting Deputy Director since July of 2025, under Director Gadyaces S. Serralta.

Deputy Director Stephanie Creasy

Creasy will now serve as second in command of the Nation’s first federal law enforcement agency. She will assist in the formulation, development, and implementation of all policies and procedures for a force of more than 5,000 operational and administrative employees spanning 94 districts, 218 sub-offices, and 4 foreign field offices.

As Deputy Director she will also provide oversight of the operation and administration of federal judicial and court security (including oversight of more than 5,000 contract court security officers), fugitive and sex offender investigation and apprehension, witness security, asset forfeiture, prisoner operations and providing assistance in matters of Federal emergencies and critical incidents.

“Stephanie Creasy has distinguished herself as a senior leader within the U.S. Marshals Service and I am honored to have her serve as our Deputy Director,” said Gadyaces S. Serralta, Director, U.S. Marshals Service. “Her leadership will strengthen our enduring commitment to protecting the judiciary, reducing violent crime and making America safe again.”

Deputy Director Creasy started her career with the USMS in 1998, as a Deputy United States Marshal (DUSM) in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has served as a Recruiting Officer, Warrants Coordinator, Public Affairs Officer, Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Coordinator, and Sexual Offender Investigative Coordinator.

Throughout her career, Deputy Director Creasy thrived in investigations. In the Western District of Tennessee, she was assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) OCDETF, where she successfully investigated and dismantled Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO) and arrested OCDETF fugitives, including former USMS 15 Most Wanted Craig Petties, who was ultimately sentenced to nine life sentences. She was later promoted to Senior Inspector in the Technical Operations Group (TOG) where she successfully completed hundreds of investigations. Her most rewarding accomplishments include the recovery of missing children.

Creasy has served in various leadership positions in the USMS where she continuously initiated and led innovative change, including implementing the USMS Distance Learning Program and the integration of Basic DUSM and Criminal Investigator training.

Creasy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a concentration in Technical and Professional Writing and Editing from the University of Memphis, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy University.

She becomes the U.S. Marshals Service first female in the Deputy Director position.
