Memphis, TN – The Memphis Safe Task Force announces the arrest of Tyrus Braddox, 36, on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping.
Task Force members responded to the area of Waterview Circle following a 911 call for help. According to reports, Braddox is accused of kidnapping a female victim and her child while brandishing a firearm. Both victims were safely recovered and transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The firearm was not recovered, and the investigation remains active.
Since its inception, the Memphis Safe Task Force has strengthened interagency collaboration by uniting local, state, and federal partners in coordinated operations and targeted patrols. This unified approach has removed violent offenders, illegal firearms, narcotics, gang members, and fugitives from Memphis communities—reducing threats to public safety, disrupting criminal networks, and reinforcing community confidence that Memphis is becoming safer.
“Citizens of Memphis are experiencing a new level of safety thanks to the Memphis Safe Task Force’s local, state, and federal partnerships,” said Tyreece Miller, United States Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee. “By removing violent offenders, dismantling gangs, and taking illegal firearms off our streets, this collaborative effort is delivering real results that families can feel in their neighborhoods.”
The Task Force’s mission is simple: to ensure that every arrest translates into greater peace of mind and a stronger, safer Memphis. It remains committed to violent crime suppression, fugitive apprehension, and community‑based enforcement strategies, with each operation underscoring its dedication to protecting Memphis through coordinated action and strong interagency partnerships.
