Springdale, AR – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week, you might have noticed a strong presence of law enforcement in Northwest Arkansas, specifically in the Springdale area. This was an operation led by the U. S. Marshals Service and brought together federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to focus on individuals wanted for gang, drug, and violent offenses in and around the communities of Springdale. It also focused on heavy law enforcement activity in areas where violent crime often occurs or is known to be taking place.
During the operation, law enforcement seized firearms, 95 grams of fentanyl, 4.13 pounds of methamphetamine, and 55 grams of cocaine. There were 340 arrests, 110 arrest warrants cleared over the three-day operation that included offenses ranging from Possession of Child Sexual Above Material, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, to Possession with Intent to Deliver Dangerous Drugs. The seized fentanyl alone is enough to kill around 47,500 people. Law enforcement also recovered one missing child during the course of the operation.
This operation was only made possible by federal, state, and local agencies working together for one common goal: Keeping the communities we live in safe. The U. S. Marshals Service wants to thank the Springdale Police Department for their hard work and commitment to leadership and mutual assistance between agencies. This operation is only successful with the efforts of agencies like the Arkansas State Police, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and Explosives, the Homeland Security Investigations, Arkansas Probation and Parole, and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
