Murder Suspect is Sought by U.S. Marshals Task Force

Memphis, TN – The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force remains on the look out for Melvin Tyler, who is wanted for multiple violent crimes including First Degree Murder.

On October 8 in Memphis, TN multiple people were shot at the intersection of Barton and S. Parkway. Hussein Hasan was shot to death. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Melvin Tyler for this crime on October 26, 2019. Tyler is also wanted for Criminal Attempt First Degree Murder, Criminal Attempt Especially Aggravated Robbery, Criminal Attempt Robbery, and Employment of a Firearm with the intent to commit a felony.

The Task Force arrested Lundarius Brown in connection with this crime on December 09, 2019. Brown was wanted for First Degree Murder, Criminal Attempt First Degree Murder, Criminal Attempt Especially Aggravated Robbery, Criminal Attempt Robbery, and Employment of a Firearm with the intent to commit a felony.

"The Marshals Task Force remains committed to apprehending violent fugitives in our community," said Jeff Holt, the U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee. "We will work resolutely until this fugitive is brought to justice. We encourage anyone with information on this matter to contact us."

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff's Deputies, Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, ATF, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
