Michigan Homicide Fugitive Captured in Morgantown

For immediate release

Terry Moore, Acting U.S. Marshal

Northern District of West Virginia
Martinsburg, WV
(304) 623-0486

Clarksburg, WV – A Michigan man who was wanted for multiple felonies has been apprehended in Morgantown.

Dion Jamel Flowers Jr., 29, was arrested without incident at a residence on Northwest Dr. at approximately 07:20AM. Flowers was wanted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for open murder, four counts of assault with the intent to murder, and various firearms violations.

On May 17, 2025, Flowers and two others are alleged to have been involved in a shooting incident in the 100 block of Lincoln St in Jackson, Michigan. During the shooting, four individuals were injured, and another person was killed. The other suspects, Montez White, 27, and Tyrek Rice, 28, were arrested by the U.S. Marshals in Ohio earlier this year.

The U.S. Marshals Service Mountain State Fugitive Task Force was requested to assist locating Flowers after investigators learned he may have fled to the Morgantown area. Deputy U.S. Marshals were able to identify associates of Flowers in the area and identified the residence where he was hiding.

Due to the violent nature of the charges, the West Virginia State Police Special Response Team (SRT) was requested to assist in the arrest. Upon entry into the residence by the SRT, Flowers was arrested without incident. The Mon Metro Drug Task Force, ATF, and Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the arrest. Flowers will be presented in Monongalia County as a Fugitive from Justice prior to extradition back to Michigan.
