Memphis Safe Task Force Weekend Update: 55 Arrests, 6 Guns Recovered

Memphis, TN – The Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF) over the weekend executed 55 criminal arrests and recovered six illegal firearms.
Of note:
On Sunday, MSTF arrested William Phillips, 25, charged with domestic assault and aggravated assault in the 4500 block of Germantown Road. Prior to the arrest a local 911 emergency dispatch received a call reporting a father-and-son domestic assault. Officers recovered one firearm from this incident.
Harold Douglas, 56, was arrested Sunday for possession of controlled substances following a drug suppression surveillance in the 6700 block of Raleigh LaGrange Road, during which officers observed Douglas taking part in a hand-to-hand drug transaction in a public place. MSTF members confirmed Douglas had an active U.S. Marshals warrant for a weapons offense. He will be charged with possession of controlled substances. Officers recovered crack cocaine and marijuana.
On Saturday, MSTF officers arrested Alexus Jamerson, 25, a suspect of interest in a prior aggravated assault in the 4700 block of Showcase Boulevard. After a vehicle pursuit during which the driver tossed a firearm out the window, Jamerson was arrested and charged with convicted felon in possession of a handgun, reckless driving, evading arrest in a vehicle, no driver’s license, financial responsibility, and tampering with evidence. Officers recovered one firearm.
Richard Leach, 35, a known gang member, was arrested Saturday in the 5300 block of Knight Arnold Road on a warrant for parole violation with an original charge of first-degree murder.
Terrance Richardson, 42, was arrested Saturday following a pursuit in the 4100 block of Lansford Drive. He charged with speeding, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), driving while license suspended/canceled/revoked, reckless driving, two counts of aggravated assault on a first responder, and evading arrest in an automobile. Officers recovered marijuana and white powder residue.
Floyd Davis, 65, was arrested in the 1100 block of Jackson Avenue, charged with first-degree murder and convicted felon in possession of a weapon. Davis is a suspect in the shooting death of another man (confirmed by video surveillance recording). The investigation is ongoing. Officers recovered a firearm.
Since the launch of the Memphis Safe Task Force initiative, officers have made 5,906 arrests, including 34 for homicide, 644 for controlled substances, 510 for firearms violations, and 86 for sex offenses. Of those arrested, 164 have been juveniles. The task force has seized 963 illegal firearms. These enforcement actions reflect a sustained commitment to reducing violent crime and removing dangerous weapons from Memphis neighborhoods.
Launched in September 2025, the Memphis Safe Task Force is a multi-agency initiative to combat violent crime in Memphis. Composed of federal, state, and local law enforcement, as well as the Tennessee National Guard, the task force is focused on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children. Since the operation began, the MSTF has located 148 missing children.
This operation reflects the Memphis Safe Task Force’s commitment to coordinated enforcement efforts and its mission to identify, apprehend, and hold accountable those who pose a threat to public safety.
