Man Wanted in Multiple Carjackings and Armed Robberies in Cuyahoga County Arrested by U.S. Marshals

Cleveland, OH – This morning, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) located and arrested Andre Lovett, 19. Lovett was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department on a 16-count indictment.

It is alleged that from October 4 through November 15, Lovett was involved in multiple incidents across Cuyahoga County to include 3 aggravated robberies, 2 kidnappings, 4 robberies, an aggravated burglary, a felonious assault, and multiple grand thefts. In multiple incidents Lovett is accused of carjacking Cuyahoga County citizens at gun point and one in incident Lovett held a family at gun point inside their residence and then proceeded to rob them.

This morning, members of the Cleveland NOVFTF arrested Lovett near the 1800 block of Wymore Street in Cleveland. Upon arrival at the address, task force members knocked and announced, and at that time Lovett jumped out of a second story bedroom window and fled on foot. Lovett led task force members on a several block foot chase until he was tracked down and arrested. During the foot pursuit, one of the task force members suffered a serious, but non-life-threatening injury that required medical attention. The officer is expected to undergo surgery today to address the injury.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The days of this fugitive terrorizing citizens of Cuyahoga County is over today. Outstanding investigative work by the Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office and our task force resulted in this violent fugitive being arrested.”
