Man Wanted in Deadly Cleveland Shooting Arrested by U.S. Marshals in East Cleveland

East Cleveland, OH – This afternoon, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) led, Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Verdine Glover, 43. Glover was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder and felonious assault.
On June 20, 2025 officers of the Cleveland Division of Police responded to an address in the 1300 block of E. 117th St. for two males shot. Both males were transported to University Hospital main campus. Edward Walker, 55, had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen but Lavelle Scales, 55, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital due to gunshot wounds that he had suffered. Verdine Glover was later identified as the suspect in this deadly incident and warrants were issued for his arrest.
Today, members of the NOVFTF arrested Glover at an apartment in the 1800 block of Lakeview Rd. in East Cleveland. U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Another case closed due to the outstanding work by the men and women of the Cleveland Division of Police homicide division. Our partnership has resulted in dozens of Cleveland homicide suspects being arrested this year and we will continue to work hand in hand to take these violent fugitives of the street.”
