Canton, OH – The U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) in Canton, OH arrested Cherie Goss (42) earlier today on charges of attempted first degree murder. Goss was wanted by the Broward County Sheriff's Office in Fort Lauderdale, FL after charges were filed against her in early April. The U.S. Marshals Service was able to track her to Stark County, OH where she was arrested.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and partnering agencies began investigating Goss’s whereabouts in the Canton, OH area after developing information she had fled Florida and was in Ohio. The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force was able to locate and arrest Goss in the 8800 block of Rue Helena St., Louisville, OH. Goss was transported to the Stark County Jail where she will wait an extradition hearing back to Broward County.

The Sheriff of Stark County and partner of the U.S. Marshals, George Maier stated, "The strong relationships we have with our law enforcement partners made our community a safer place today. Without these partnerships and our dedicated officers, a dangerous fugitive would still be on the streets of Stark County. I hope this is the first step in providing justice for the victims in this case."
