Memphis, TN – Members of the Memphis Safe Task Force today arrested Eric Wilkerson, age 43, in the area of East Hickory Bluffs in Memphis on a warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder.
According to multiple news outlets, Wilkerson is alleged to have been previously charged with Aggravated Assault in connection with the February 22, 2024, shooting that killed Adrian Goodrich, a former Bellevue Middle School football coach.
According to the affidavit, two individuals, including Wilkerson, were identified as shooting at each other near Scott Street and Yale Avenue. Wilkerson told police that the other individual was behind him when one of the shots struck Goodrich in the head. Investigators believe Goodrich was tragically caught in the crossfire.
Court records show that charges against both Wilkerson and another suspect, Harris, were dismissed on May 15, 2024. Wilkerson is now back in custody following today’s arrest.
“Violent crime leaves scars on communities, but accountability begins the healing process. Ensuring that those who endanger our neighborhoods face justice is essential. Our community deserves nothing less,” said Tyreece Miller, United States Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee.
The Memphis Safe Task Force remains committed to removing violent offenders from the community and ensuring accountability for acts of gun violence. This arrest underscores the Task Force’s ongoing mission to protect Memphis neighborhoods and bring justice to victims of violent crime.
