$5,000 Reward Offered for Tips Leading to the Arrest of Man Charged in Shooting Death of Juvenile in “Fast-Food” Restaurant

Hampton, VA – On November 22, 2023, Hampton Police responded to the 1000 Block of W. Mercury Boulevard in reference to a shooting in a fast-food restaurant. Upon arrival, Hampton Police located a juvenile male suffering from a single gunshot wound. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital and later pronounced deceased.

Wanted Fugitive - Elijah James-Sanders

During the investigation, Elijah James-Sanders was identified as a suspect in the shooting. Charges were sought and obtained for James-Sanders to include Second Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Burglary While Armed, Discharging a Firearm Within a Building, and Wearing a Mask in Public.

U.S. Marshals are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of James-Sanders. Anyone that may have had contact with or seen James-Sanders is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals at 1-877-WANTED-2 (1-877-926-8332).
