First Degree Murder Suspect Apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Mississippi

Memphis, TN – Demetrius Davison, 27, who was wanted by the Memphis Police Department for First Degree Murder, was arrested by the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force out of Mississippi. Davison was wanted in connection to a shooting that left one man dead.

On April 4, 2022, Memphis Police responded to a shooting call at 311 Edsel Avenue where a man was found shot multiple times in his vehicle. The victim was transported to Regional One Medical Center by the Memphis Fire Department and pronounced deceased by the Medical Examiner.

On April 19, the Memphis Police Homicide Bureau requested the assistance of the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) of Memphis in locating Davison. The TRVFTF investigation led to Mississippi, and the TRVFTF requested the help of the GCRFTF to apprehend Davison.

This morning, the GCRFTF went to 2669 Kirby Road, Apartment 4701 in Robbinsville, Mississippi, to arrest Davison. He was arrested without incident, and he is awaiting extradition by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office to return to Tennessee.

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
