Denver, CO – An inmate who had escaped from FCI Englewood in Colorado after walking away from a satellite camp at the prison was apprehended without incident by the U.S. Marshals Service from the District of Colorado and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation at approximately 11:30 am today in Grand Junction, Colorado. Frank Elliott was serving a 15 year sentence for
a conviction of federal drug charges out of the District of South
Dakota. BOP discovered Elliott was missing from custody after conducting
a prisoner count. “The U.S. Marshals would like to thank the Colorado Bureau of Investigations and other local and federal partners for their assistance in the quick capture of Frank Elliott.” said U.S. Marshal David A. Weaver of the District of Colorado. The U.S. Marshals Service is the federal government’s primary agency for fugitive investigations. With the broadest arrest authority among federal law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Marshals provide assistance to state and local agencies in locating and apprehending their most violent fugitives.
