California Murder Suspect Apprehended by U.S. Marshals In Memphis

Memphis, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the capture of Bryce Williams, on one count of Murder and one count of Assault with a Firearm against a Person. The charges occurred in Kern County, California.

On February 5, 2022, Bakersfield Police Department in California responded to a shooting in Kern County. It is alleged that Williams was involved in the shooting. Kern County Superior Court issued the warrants for the arrest of Williams.

The U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force (PSRFTF) Bakersfield Division adopted the investigation into Williams. Further investigation put Williams in the Memphis area following the incident.

Working in conjunction with the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force (PSRFTF), the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) out of Memphis initiated an investigation to locate Williams. Deputies went to an apartment in the 3200 block of Pecan Lake Circle in Memphis this morning where they found Williams hiding under a bed. Williams was arrested without incident and booked into the Shelby County Jail, where he awaits the extradition process.

U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller stated, "Interstate fugitives fleeing from justice is a high priority for the U.S. Marshals Service."

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force (PSRFTF) has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
