Harrisburg, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Kent Shand – a 27-year old Lebanon man.

On March 11, 2021, the New York Police Department investigated a fatal shooting in the 1900 block of Avenue M in Brooklyn. As a result of their investigations, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Kent with Murder in the 2nd Degree and lesser included offenses. Attempts to find him in New York were unsuccessful and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.

This morning at about 6 a.m., the fugitive investigation led officers to the 100 block of West Market Street in York, Pennsylvania where Shand was arrested without incident. He was turned over to the York County Sheriff's Central Booking Unit for arraignment and processing.

United States Marshal Pane stated, "It's the Marshals Services' duty to ensure that those charged with violent crimes have their day in court. It is my sincere hope that the victim's family will find some measure of comfort knowing the suspect will face justice."

The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 21 state, county and local police agencies; including the York City Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, the York County Sheriff's Office, the York County District Attorney's Office, the Northern York County Regional Police Department and the Spring Garden Township Police Department - all of whom participated in this arrest.
