U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Harrisburg Man Wanted for Shooting

Harrisburg, PA – Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Zaequan Amir Black, a 20-year old Harrisburg man.

On November 6, 2020, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police investigated a shooting in the 1800 block of Zarker Street which left one person wounded. Based upon their investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Black with aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm, and lesser included offenses. At the time of the shooting, Black was wanted by the Dauphin County Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear on two previous assault charges. Attempts to find Black were unsuccessful and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.

Today, at about 11 a.m., members of the fugitive task force checked a home in the 1800 block of Walnut Street in Harrisburg and arrested Black without incident. He was returned to Harrisburg police for processing and arraignment.

U.S. Marshal Martin Pane said, “The U.S. Marshals Service recognizes the importance of bringing those charged with violent crimes to justice and we give these types of cases our utmost attention. It is my hope that the community will find comfort knowing the alleged attacker will face justice.”

The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Harrisburg Bureau of Police; the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; the Lower Paxton Township Police Department; the Swatara Township Police Department; the Derry Township Police Department; the Dauphin County Adult Probation Office; and the Dauphin County Work Release Center - all of whom participated in this arrest.
