Coeur d'Alene, ID – On Wednesday evening, the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force arrested the North Idaho murder suspect out-of-state. The U.S. Marshals task force in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and Spokane, Washington swiftly located and arrested Neal Mouser, 59, in Washington.

Yesterday, the Bonner County District Court in Sandpoint, Idaho issued an arrest warrant charging Mouser with Murder in the First Degree stemming from the deceased man found shot near the Upper Pack River Valley area on December 10. On Tuesday, the Bonner County Sheriff's Office immediately arrested Mouser's co-conspirator, Cantrip Gatens, 28, and then requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force with locating Mouser on his nationwide extradition warrant.

The U.S. Marshals fugitive task force developed information Mouser moved to Washington. Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers from various departments in North Idaho and Eastern Washington conducted surveillance near the 300 block of South Greene Street in Spokane. The task force identified Mouser on foot and then safely executed their arrest plan.

The U.S. Marshal for the District of Idaho, Brent Bunn, expressed his appreciation of the collaboration between law enforcement in the region. U.S. Marshal Bunn stated, "the great teamwork and sharing of intelligence between local, state and federal law enforcement in Idaho and Washington contributed to the quick apprehension of a dangerous fugitive."

The Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force in Coeur d'Alene is comprised of Deputy U.S. Marshals and investigators from the Coeur d'Alene Police Department, Post Falls Police Department, Idaho State Police and the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office.
