Memphis, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the capture
of multiple murder suspects in the last two days.
On October 19,
2020, Anthony Banks was stabbed to death in Toledo, Ohio. On November 4,
a warrant was issued for the arrest of Anne Hair for this crime.
Investigators with the U.S. Marshals North Ohio Violent Fugitive Task
Force developed information that Hair was in Memphis, Tennessee.
Earlier today members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional
Fugitive Task Force went to a residence in the 3200 block of Lyndale
Avenue in Memphis to locate the fugitive. She attempted to hide herself
in the backseat of a car that was parked in the front of the house.
However, she was spotted and taken into custody without further
incident.
This successful investigation follows closely behind
another that occurred in the early morning hours of November 11.
Fugitive, Jalen Highsmith was arrested in Memphis on a Capital Murder
warrant out of Austin, Texas by the Task Force and the Multi-Agency Gang
Unit at the intersection of Florida and W. Parkway.
Also arrested
with Highsmith was a Kelvin Robinson for Felon in Possession of a
Firearm. Earlier this morning, Capital Murder charges were also filed
against Kelvin Robinson by authorities in Austin, Texas. The charges
against Highsmith and Robinson stem from the shooting death of Mario
Robinson in Austin, Texas on November 7.
“It is gratifying to
have this kind of success in a relatively short period of time,” said
U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller. “The Marshals Service is proud to be of
service to our communities.”
The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast
Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions
in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee
Division of the GCRFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its
membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County
Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s
Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of
Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to
arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
