U.S. Marshals Arrest Middletown Murder Suspect in Tampa, FL |
Tampa, FL – During the late-morning hours of November 6, 2020, the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested fugitive Marquan Cook on an outstanding warrant from Butler County for Murder. On October 11, Cook was allegedly involved in an assault on a male victim at the 600 block of North Verity Parkway in Middletown, OH, where the victim was struck by gunfire. The victim succumbed to his wounds. Middletown Police Department investigators filed an arrest warrant for Cook. The U.S. Marshals SOFAST in Cincinnati, OH, and the U.S. Marshals Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force with assistance from the Middletown Police Department, developed information Cook was in the 200 block of East Fowler Avenue in Tampa, FL. U.S. Marshals quickly arrested Cook without incident. Cook is currently in custody at the Hillsborough
County Jail awaiting extradition back to Butler County. U.S. Marshals are the nation’s primary fugitive hunting organization and capture more federal fugitives each year than all other law enforcement agencies combined.
