Martinsburg, WV - Members of the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force and the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office arrested an Indiana man wanted by the Jay County Sheriff's Office for homicide.

Cory Jones, 43, of Dunkirk was taken into custody in Inwood near the Pike side Bowling Plaza without incident.

The Jay County Sheriff's Office identified Jones as the primary suspect in the shooting death of Shanna Jones at the home they shared. The U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted the Jay County Sheriff's Office in locating Jones. Investigators developed information Jones was travelling through the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. The U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force contacted the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force to assist in locating and apprehending Jones. Officers were canvassing the area when Berkeley County Sheriff's Office located Jones vehicle, which was parked in the Pike side lot where members of the Task Force and Sheriff's Office took Jones into custody.

"Fugitives often think they can commit these heinous crimes and go on the run, but US Marshals are determined to work with our state and local partners and give these victims of violent crime the justice they deserve." said U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of West Virginia J.C. Raffety.

Additional information on this case may be obtained from the Jay County Sheriff's Office.
