U.S. Marshals Service Apprehends Violent Offender

Albuquerque, NM – Joseph MacDonald was arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after the United States Marshals Service (USMS) South West Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) was contacted by the Eastern District of Missouri (St. Louis) United States Marshals Service. The South West Investigative Fugitive Taskforce is comprised of the United States Marshals Service, the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, New Mexico State Police, Drug Enforcement Administration.

Through the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Violent Crimes Task Force, MacDonald was indicted on possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine; possession of firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime; and felon in possession of a firearm. MacDonald was apprehended with a loaded firearm in his waistband during the arrest. MacDonald is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
