U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrests Minnesota Murder Suspect

Memphis, TN – A Minnesota murder suspect was arrested in West Memphis, Arkansas by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Orlando Franklin was arrested earlier today. He had a warrant for his arrest out of Ramsey County Minnesota for 2nd Degree Murder. He is alleged to be the suspect in an April 25 shooting death in St. Paul Minnesota.

Franklin was tracked by investigators in Minnesota to the West Memphis area. He was located and arrested by the Gulf Coast Task Force at a residence in the 1100 block of Parkrose, West Memphis. He was taken into custody without incident and is being held at a local detention facility.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff's Deputies, Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, ATF, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
