U.S. Marshals Task Force Captures Memphis First Degree Murder Suspect

Memphis, TN – Hakeem Zeb was arrested in the St. Louis area earlier today for a February 2018 murder in Memphis, TN.

On February 13, 2018 Sharon Redmond and Tarshawn Gibson were shot in a car near the 2500 block of Elvis Presley Blvd. Redmond was pronounced dead at the scene. On February 22 a warrant for the arrest of Hakeem Zeb for this incident, with charges of First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm in commission of a Felony.

Investigators pursued leads and avenues of inquiry. Finally they were able to track him to the area of St, Louis MO. He was arrested near the 1300 block of N. Green Mt. road in O'Fallon IL, part of St. Louis exurban area. He was arrested by the St. Louis U.S. Marshals office. He was transported to a local holding facility without incident.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff's Deputies, Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, ATF, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
