Des Moines, IA – From Aug. 14 – Sept. 22, members of the U.S.

Des Moines, IA – Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force - including the USMS, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, 5th Judicial District Fugitive Unit, and Homeland Security Investigations - arrested a homicide suspect in the 4900 block of NE 14th Street late Thursday night.

Des Moines, IA – Members of the U.S. Marshals Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force, in coordination with the Altoona Police Department, the Iowa State Patrol, and the Metro STAR  (Special Tactics and Response) Team, arrested a homicide suspect in the 3600 block of Holcomb Avenue on Thursday night.

Des Moines, IA – After nearly six years on the run, a Des Moines man who faked his own death and fled the state to avoid a trial on child pornography charges is back in custody.

Windsor Heights, IA – Members of the U.S. Marshals Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force, in coordination with the Long Beach, California, Police Department, arrested a double-homicide suspect in the 7600 block of Windsor Heights September 16.

Cedar Rapids, IA and Des Moines, IA – Since October 2020, the U.S. Marshals in Iowa have been partnering with federal, state and local agencies in a joint operation dubbed Operation Homecoming, focused on recovering vulnerable, critically missing children across the state, and as of March 23, U.S.

Des Moines, IA – A task force of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers in Des Moines arrested a man wanted by Alabama authorities for allegedly sexually abusing a child. The U.S. Marshals-led Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force located the man, Kenil Leonel Iriarte-Banegas, 21, in the 900 block of E. Hull Ave. just after 3:00 p.m.

Iowa City, IA – Two U.S. Marshals Service-led violent fugitive task forces – the Southern Iowa Fugitive Task Force (SIFTF) and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force – joined forces today with the Johnson County Drug Task Force and the Iowa City Street Crimes Unit to arrest two fugitives wanted on separate out-of-state criminal charges.

Hamburg, IA – U.S. Marshals have arrested a Muscatine man on an attempted murder warrant in connection with a deadly assault at a grain elevator in Hamburg in October.
