Texas Fugitive Wanted for Murder Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Akron

For immediate release

Akron, OH – Late this morning, members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Tion Green, 20. Green was wanted by police in Killeen, TX for murder.

On September 22, 2024, Killeen Police Department responded to the sound of gunfire while attending to another call.  As they arrived on scene they located the victim, Dirkshawn Bryan, 23, with gunshot wounds.  Through their investigative work, law enforcement in Killeen obtained an arrest warrant for Green in January 2025.

U.S. Marshals in Texas were able to gather information that Green had fled from Texas to Akron, Ohio.  Locally, Green was featured as the Fugitive of the Week in late February. Numerous tips were received about Green’s whereabouts in the Akron area.  This morning, members of the Akron and Canton teams of the NOVFTF were able to locate Green at a home in the 1200 block of Lippert Rd. NE in Canton.  Green was attempting to barricade a door in the home when officers made contact with him. He was quickly arrested without further incident.

Green will be held in custody locally until he can be extradited back to Texas to face the charges against him.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “This fugitive was on the run for a long time, but like all of our cases, the U.S. Marshals Service never gives up until they catch their fugitive, no matter how far they run.”
