Second Suspect Wanted in Connection to Medusa Night Club Homicide Arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force

For immediate release

Cleveland, OH – This afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Ron Christopher Hunter, 29.  Hunter was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for murder in connection to the deadly Medusa Night Club shooting that took place on December 7, 2025.

In the early hours of December 7, 2025, officers working in the downtown entertainment district were flagged down in the area of 1400 St. Clair Ave. They were alerted to a victim who had been shot inside the night club.  Although club patrons and officers attempted life saving measures, the victim, a 23-year-old male, died on scene.

In the recent weeks after the shooting, members of the NOVFTF worked with Cleveland homicide detectives as suspects were identified.  First, Steven Cooperwood, 28, was identified as a suspect in the shooting by Cleveland detectives. Members of the NOVFTF were able to narrow down his location, and on Christmas Eve arrested Cooperwood without incident at a home in the 1600 block of Sunset Ave. in Akron.  Additionally, Ron Christopher Hunter, 29, was wanted for the murder as well.  Today, members of the task force were able to locate Hunter at an address in the 6300 block of White Ave. in Cleveland.  He was arrested there without incident.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “It is incredible that there were not more victims when these suspects opened fire in a crowded night club.  Cleveland homicide detectives worked diligently to identify both suspects and our teams worked very closely with those detectives to ensure the individuals wanted for such heinous crimes are off the streets and brought to justice.”
