Memphis Safe Task Force Arrests 2 Murder Suspects Tuesday

Memphis, TN – Members of the Memphis Safe Task Force Tuesday night arrested two Memphis men wanted for separate murders in Shelby County.

Gabrien Rounds, 20, charged with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder and employing a firearm during a dangerous felony following a June 18, 2024, homicide in Castalia Heights, was arrested in the 1500 block of Antona Place at approximately 7:15 p.m. 

China D. White, 25, a Gangster Disciple gang member charged with two counts first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder in Shelby County following a July 2020 murder on Barron Avenue, was taken into custody at an apartment complex in the 3100 block of Pecan Lake Drive at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Launched in September 2025, the Memphis Safe Task Force is a multi-agency initiative to combat violent crime in Memphis. Composed of federal, state, and local law enforcement, as well as the Tennessee National Guard, the task force is focused on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children.

This operation reflects the Memphis Safe Task Force’s commitment to coordinated enforcement efforts and its mission to identify, apprehend, and hold accountable those who pose a threat to public safety.
