U.S. Marshals Capture Suspect in 2017 Homicide

For immediate release

Jackson, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announced today the capture of Donald Wayne Duckworth. Duckworth had been indicted by a Madison County Grand Jury on two counts of Second-Degree Murder. According to investigators, Duckworth is allegedly involved in a 2017 homicide where a 19-year-old woman's body was found lying near a driveway in East Madison County. The victim was later identified as Aniya Bryson of Milan, Tennessee.

The United States Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force was asked to assist in locating Duckworth and today found him at a business in the 500 block of East Main Street in Jackson, Tennessee. During the arrest of Duckworth, agents say they recovered approximately 1 gram of suspected crack cocaine. Agents with Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics Unit are investigating the narcotics charges. Duckworth was transported to the Madison County Jail where he awaits further court proceedings.

"The victim's family has been waiting for answers for three years," said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller.

"Because of the commitment of the Investigators who worked on this homicide case, the victim and family will not be denied justice. The Marshals Service is proud to assist our partners to ensure the accused is held accountable."

The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) has offices in Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. The West Tennessee office consists of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Investigators with the Jackson Police Department, Agents with the Tennessee Department of Correction, Investigators with the Memphis Police Department, Shelby County Sheriffs Office and Fayette County Sheriffs Office.
