U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Maryland Attempted Murder Fugitive in York

For immediate release

York, PA – Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Brian Adams, a 32-year old Red Lion man.

On August 21, 2020, the Baltimore Police Department investigated a traffic accident in which three bicyclists were struck by a vehicle before fleeing the scene. The investigation revealed that Adams allegedly intentionally struck the bicyclists – momentarily pinning one to a vehicle. On August 27th, officers obtained an arrest warrant charging him with three counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder and lesser included offenses. Attempts to find Adams at his Red Lion home were unsuccessful and the fugitive case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force.

Today at about 1 p.m., members of the task force and Pennsylvania State Police arrested Adams in the 2100 block of South Queen Street, York without incident. He was turned over to the York County Sheriff's Office Central Booking Unit to await extradition to Maryland.

U.S. Marshal Martin Pane said, "The U.S. Marshals Service recognizes the importance of bringing those charged with multiple violent offenses to justice as quickly as possible. We give these type of cases our utmost attention. It is my hope that the victims and their family members will find comfort knowing the alleged attacker is now in custody."

The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the York City Police Department; the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; the York County Sheriff's Office; the York County District Attorney's Office; the Northern York County Regional Police Department; and, the Spring Garden Township Police Department - all of whom participated in this fugitive investigation.
