2 Children Missing From Lorain County Recovered by U.S. Marshals in Indiana

Indianapolis, IN – Earlier today, members of the U.S. Marshals led Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in Indianapolis, Indiana recovered two missing children from Ohio.  

The children, ages four and one, were reported missing to the Elyria Police Department during a court hearing in Lorain County on September 16.  The older child was reported to be autistic and required medical treatment.  Due to the circumstances reported to law enforcement, both children were believed to be in danger.

Members of the U.S. Marshals led SPEAR (Specialized Personnel for Enforcement, Apprehension, and Recovery) unit worked closely with Elyria Police during the investigation and gathered that the children were with their mother and she had fled the state.  This afternoon, members of the task force in Indiana were able to safely recover the two children.  Additionally, the mother of the children, Asiah Brown, 26, was also arrested after she was indicted on September 24 through Lorain County Court of Common Pleas for interference with custody.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The United States Marshals Service will do everything in its power to safely locate missing children.  We are thankful for the safe recovery of these two children and the incredible partnership with Elyria Police Department to ensure no information is lost or overlooked when it comes to cases like this.”
