U.S. Marshals and TBI Offer Reward for Wanted Fugitive in Brownsville Homicide

**Dequarius “DQ” Lax Surrendered to Local Authorities on May 27, 2026**

Jackson, TN – The U.S. Marshals Service is offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the capture of fugitive, Dequarius “DQ” Lax.

Lax, 18, is wanted for First Degree Murder, six counts of Attempted Murder, and multiple other charges related to a May 8, 2026, shooting at Webb Banks Park in Brownsville, TN, that took the life of 17-year-old Saturah Hayes.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is also offering a reward of up to $2,500 for a combined reward of up to $7,500 for the arrest of Dequarius Lax.

Anyone with information on Lax’s whereabouts is asked to call TBI or U.S. Marshals at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
