U.S. Marshals Arrest Fugitive Wanted for Murder

Atlanta, GA – The U. S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Taskforce has arrested a 17-year-old juvenile from Iowa City, Iowa. This individual is wanted on five counts of attempted murder, three counts of willful injury assault causing bodily injury, two counts of willful injury assault causing bodily injury and one count of going armed with intent. Task force members apprehended the suspect at the Southern Suites in Forest Park, Georgia, at approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning.
Utilizing a series of investigative techniques, Marshals in Iowa were able to direct the task force to Forest Park, and then local investigators found where the individual was staying. The suspect was taken to the Clayton County Jail, where he will await extradition in lieu of bond.
“Once the U.S. Marshals Service was made aware that the shooting suspect might be in the Northern Georgia District, the appropriate resources were dedicated to apprehending this violent fugitive. Within a few days, the brave men and women of the USMS, working with our local, county, state and federal law enforcement partners, located and apprehend the suspect. As a U.S. Marshal, I am dedicated to prioritizing the removal of dangerous felons from our communities,” said Steve Serrao, United States Marshal (Acting) for the Northern District of Georgia.
