Washington, DC – The U.S. Marshals (USMS) Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on Jan. 22 arrested two Illinois men facing multiple charges stemming from an incident in Washington Park in November 2025.
Quinntarious Weaver and Tyron Burrell are charged in a St. Clair County warrant with armed robbery, aggravated battery and aggravated discharge of a firearm after they attempted to carjack a victim driving a Tesla on 45th Street in Washington Park Nov. 3, 2025.
When the pair realized they could not operate the vehicle, they forced the victim to CashApp $750 to them. After the money transfer, they fired multiple gunshots at the victim but missed.
On Jan. 22, members of the USMS Southern Illinois – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (GLRFTF) developed information that Weaver and Burrell were at a residence in the 1600 block of North 45th Street in Washington Park.
After establishing a perimeter at the location, task force members approached the house, knocking and announcing their presence and purpose.
A woman responded to the door and willingly exited, confirming to investigators that Weaver and Burrell were inside the residence in a second-floor bedroom.
Task force members made entry and announced their presence, calling out for both men to come out. Burrell exited the bedroom immediately and was taken into custody. Weaver was hiding behind the bedroom door but complied and was taken into custody after task force officers issued several more commands.
Officers observed a handgun on the bed and a rifle on the floor.
The residence was secured, and the firearms were left in their locations. The residence was relinquished to the Illinois State Police (ISP) for the execution of a search warrant.
Weaver and Burrell were placed in ISP squad vehicles for transport.
