Criminal Arsenals Disrupted as Memphis Safe Task Force Removes Over 650 Illegal Guns From Streets

Memphis, TN – The Memphis Safe Task Force announces today that it has seized more than 650 illegally possessed firearms since the initiative began, marking a milestone in the ongoing effort to reduce violent crime and enhance public safety across Memphis.
Since its launch, the Task Force has worked alongside federal, state, and local partners to identify violent offenders, disrupt criminal activity, and remove unlawfully possessed firearms from circulation. Each illegally possessed firearm seized represents a weapon no longer available to harm Memphis residents or law enforcement personnel.
“The effects of this work will echo for generations, laying the foundation for safer communities across Memphis and beyond,” said Director of the United States Marshals Service and Chair of the Memphis Safe Task Force, Gadyaces S. Serralta. “We are proud to uphold the law, protect families, and deliver justice that endures for the future.”
The Memphis Safe Task Force continues to prioritize proactive enforcement, targeted investigations, and coordinated operations aimed at reducing gun violence and protecting the community. The Task Force remains committed to removing illegal firearms, pursuing those who endanger the public, and strengthening safety across Memphis neighborhoods.
