Philadelphia, PA —Members of the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force arrested in Pittsburgh tonight a man wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police on charges of murder in relation to a deadly shooting that occurred October 7th, 2023, on I-95 in Upper Chichester, Delaware County. During the shooting incident, over 40 shots were fired from a rifle into a moving vehicle, striking and killing the driver and injuring the passenger. In December of 2024, Pennsylvania State Police investigators from Troop K Media barracks obtained a homicide warrant for Daryl Beckett, 36, and Beckett was added to the State Police Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Philadelphia was then delegated the case.
Beckett was taken into custody at a residence in the 1600 block of Brighton Place in Pittsburgh where Marshals Service investigators learned Beckett was presently hiding. Once Beckett was observed by a task force surveillance team, members of the Pittsburgh Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) West executed an arrest warrant and Beckett was taken into custody without incident.
“Thanks to the outstanding collaboration between the U.S. Marshals Service and Pennsylvania State Police, a dangerous murderer has been captured, and our community is safer tonight,” said Robert Clark, Supervisory Deputy for the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force.
