U.S. Marshals Apprehend Triple Murder Suspect

Greenville, MS – On February 6, 2024, the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF), in coordination with the Arlington Police Department, USMS Northern District of Texas Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force (N/TX VOTF) and USMS Northern District of Mississippi (N/MS) arrested a man wanted by the Arlington Police Department for a triple murder in Arlington, TX. 

Larry Reed, 29, was wanted for the killing of three individuals inside a residence which occurred on January 25, 2024. All three victims had multiple gunshot wounds. The killings were retaliation against an associate and the two other individuals present were unrelated to the retaliation.     

N/TX VOTF investigators determined that the suspect fled Texas and was residing in Mississippi and sent an investigative lead to GCRFTF. GCRFTF investigators and N/MS investigators jointly pursued Reed.  

GCRFTF and N/MS investigators located Reed at a residence on the 800 block of Central Street in Greenville, MS. Investigators secured a perimeter at the residence, and conducted a callout. The suspect eventually exited the residence without further incident. 

Reed was arrested and transported to the Washington County jail and will be held in custody pending extradition to Texas. 

GCRFTF began operations in July 2006 and operates in Alabama, Mississippi with the participation of three federal agencies and 63 state and local agencies. GCRFTF has apprehended more than 70,000 fugitives since its inception. 

N/TX VOTF began operations in 2006 and has partnership agreements with 20 state and local agencies and operates in the areas of Northern Texas covering 100 counties. 

The Northern District of Mississippi has partnership agreements with 7 state and local agencies and operates in the areas of Northern Mississippi covering 37 counties.
